Probate and Trust Administration
Serving as an executor of an estate or as a trustee of a trust can be a confusing, overwhelming, time-consuming task – particularly when combined with a life event such as the passing of a loved one. Some clients only need guidance through the probate process, while others need more heavy lifting. In other instances, you may have a child who has reached the age of majority or an elderly parent, that still needs assistance making financial or healthcare decisions because of a disability or loss of capacity. My goal is to reduce the legal burdens that arise in these scenarios, by offering customized, economical, and sensitive advice and counsel to guardians, conservators, executors, and trustees who are often faced with an enormous task at an incredibly difficult time. Recent probate clients include:
- a client whose spouse passed unexpectedly without a will or a trust

- clients whose family member owned a small business and a piece multimillion dollar real estate with only a basic will in place.
I offer a full range of probate and trust administration services including:
- Meetings with executors and trustees to offer general guidance and help them understand their obligations
- Assisting successor trustees with management and distribution of trust assets

- Guardianship and conservatorship proceedings

Contracts
When you’re running a business, almost everything you do is governed by a voluntary agreement with another person or company, which is why it is vital to understand the various forms and language that shape them. To protect against the ramifications of poorly worded phrases, overlooked details, confusing clauses, and inadequate remedies, I not only assist my clients in reviewing contracts they are creating or entering, I help negotiate and draft them to provide the utmost benefit and protection. Recent representative clients include:
- a technology company that manufactures and provides environmental monitoring systems,
- local interior designer needing client and vendor contracts, and
- veterinary practice undergoing a commercial renovation project.
I help clients with a broad range of contract matters including:
- Asset purchase agreements
- Client service contracts
- Employment agreements
- Independent contractor agreements
- Non-Disclosure/confidentiality agreements
- Non-compete agreements
- Business exits
- Purchase and sale contracts and transfer agreements
- Assignments and Bills of Sale
- Partnership Agreements and Shareholder Agreements
- Dissolution agreements

General Counsel and Consulting
Sometimes you need to sit down for legal guidance and direction, but you do not need full-time, senior-level general counsel. I offer small businesses, local professionals, and burgeoning entrepreneurs an affordable way to hire general counsel on an as-needed basis. Whether you need documents reviewed and interpreted, research into a particular legal matter, foundational legal guidance for a new endeavor, or a legal opinion on a specific issue, I offer clients general counsel that is responsive and flexible at rates that are often substantially less than a larger firm may charge. Hard fee estimates for specific projects can be provided – I know how important it is to budget and plan appropriately.
